Join artist, educator, and graphic designer Mark Willie for this intensive workshop in collage, montage, and assemblage. Create visual dialogues and unexpected relationships through additive and reductive processes. Cut, paste, tear, scrape, reveal, and re-purpose with paper, glue, paint, and drawing to realize your unique artistic vision!
After a long career in graphic design and a continuing career in design education, Mark has returned to painting and collaging as a method of visual exploration. His work is primarily derived from plein air landscape studies: the drawing, painting, collaging, and mark-making process emerges through the experience, contemplative or spontaneous, of the environment in which it is engaged. The work is very much connected to place, often centered around the marshes and farmland of southern Cumberland County, New Jersey.
