The print is an amalgam of possibilities—a fundamentally hybrid art form. Fine art prints can merge traditional printmaking techniques with photographic and digital processes, often blending multiple methods within a single work. They combine originality with reproducibility to create multiple original works of art.
The book offers another example of print’s multifaceted potential. With the invention of the printing press, the handwritten calligraphic manuscript evolved into a new form of communication that revolutionized the world. The modern book is inseparable from printmaking, sharing a defining characteristic: the ability to exist in multiples. This exhibition embraces one form of the contemporary book—the artist book, in which visual expression is central to its content.
While artist books depend on and employ printmaking, they differ significantly from prints. Many require not only visual attention but also physical engagement. Their content is often unavailable through casual looking. One needs to turn the pages, feel the paper, and read the text. Given the variations in artist books, this exhibition will present them in different ways, focusing on how each can be most fully experienced.

Since April of 2001, the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts has been a non-profit community arts and cultural center in the heart of Millville’s downtown.
In the 24th year of operation, the center continues to prove itself a vital asset in the region, attracting artists, patrons, neighborhood groups and collaborative partners. Available and accessible resources such as arts education, exhibits and considerable physical space are key strengths of the organization. Functioning as a true community partner has allowed an opportunity to increase audiences through collaborations with both arts and non-arts organizations. Emerging artists and professional artists alike share their creative vision to southern New Jersey audiences.
Financial support from the public is crucial in funding our youth arts education programs, including youth workshops, summer camp and exhibits. Further, the center is often a trip destination for students, seniors and adults with disabilities. Art activities for these groups offers an outlet for creative expression and is often therapeutic.
As the anchor in the Glasstown Arts District, the Riverfront Renaissance Center for the Arts continues with Third Friday art receptions, leading the town in attracting visitors, benefitting all of Millville.
ACPS members are encouraged to enter both calls. Please fill out each form and note that separate fees required.
