Juror's Statement:
The Cheltenham Art Center is alive with color, shape, and texture! The
American Color Print Society's 63rd National Print
Exhibition includes a wonderful range of all three. Themes such as
joy, pain, nature, history, politics, and whimsy sing from
the gallery walls. Tangibly rich collagraphs, wistfully delicate
etchings, and strong digital images happily coexist, and along
with the other established printmaking techniques, they enable the
viewer a have a memorable experience.
I would like to thank all of the participating artists for providing
work of notable quality and aesthetic diversity.
Eileen M. Foti,
Juror
Awards
"The Red Boat," a collograph by Selma Bortner was selected by Anne R. Fabbri to be the recipient of the Michael Lasuchin Memorial Award given by Dorothy Roschen Lasuchin and Victor Lasuchin. It was chosen from among many outstanding prints in the national exhibition of the American Color Print Society because of its originality of expression and outstanding execution of the print medium. Its memorable image and vital composition demonstrate the inherent creative potential of the visual arts.
