Joyce Harris Mayer

ARTIST STATEMENT

The impressionists deconstructed form. Modern art asked the question, “Where do we go from here?” Picasso created images his dealer refused to sell, but then showed to Kandinsky, who then was credited with inventing abstract art by creating compositions based on point, line, plane, and chaos. Mondrian then used point, line plane and order as his motif. My five images are from a series called Point, Line, Plane, Chaos. They are copyrighted and published in my book “Winds of My Mind” (Library of Congress Control Number 2008907666) archived in the Library of Congress.
