Artist Statement
We can sometimes live beyond our own lives through the appreciation of others. This extension, for me, can be found in the artistic influences of Durer, Escher, Ward, and the German Expressionists, to name a few.
The variety of subject matter in my current body of work interests me on several levels. Landscapes, architecture, and design all become a fascinating study in interpretation, composition, color, and technique.
Using aesthetic decisions and critical thinking skills are like putting together a puzzle except that one is creating the pieces as the problem is solved. This is my passion for printmaking.
