ACPS MEMBERSHIP
The American Color Print Society was founded in 1939 in Philadelphia, PA. At that time the typical print was a black and white etching, with very little chance of a color print passing a jury. In 1940, 85 artist members staged the first National Color Print Exhibition at the Philadelphia Print Club. This opened printmaking to color and allowed for the experimentation which is part of our tradition today. We present a members' show annually, usually during November, at the Plastic Club in Philadelphia. In addition, we have shows open to non-members (whose prints are juried) approximately every two years at other galleries.
ACPS MEMBERSHIP enables you to exhibit in the annual members' shows as well as the open shows. Members will be juried for prizes only. Exhibits are held in the tri-state area. Dues are $30.00 per year, due each January. Members receive membersí directory as well as the newsletter, The Color Proof. Meetings are held periodically to take care of society business, occasionally meet visiting print-makers, collectors, or for visits to print collections or print studios.
TO APPLY FOR MEMBERSHIP
1. You must have exhibited original prints
in at least three juried exhibitions
within the past four years.
2. Send five slides or four unframed
original prints with SASE or postage for return of work.
3. A short statement about your prints.
4. A $30.00 check (non-refundable) made
payable to:
