Artist Statement

I make images that are interesting to me. I do my best to reward my viewers with a certain amount of enrichment if they are willing to invest a moment of their time to look at my work. I find that my personal interests are eclectic, and my prints tend to reflect that influence. I grew up in Flint, Michigan. My building images capture the optimistic city of my childhood and provide a positive counter-balance to todays generally negative perception of my city in transition. My fantasy images are a satisfying outlet for my sense of history, both real and imagined, while my abstracts allow me to drift into the unrestricted realm of pure creativity.

I use Serigraphy as my primary mode of expression, although I regularly work with Intaglio and Relief processes. I avoid using photo screens and emulsions preferring instead to use glue and tusche, paper and other manually generated stencils. I use the best materials and papers available and print/publish all my own work. My edition sizes are typically under 30. Smaller editions allow me the luxury of sharing more of my unique visions with others.
