Artist Statement
For the past several years, I have been experimenting with and employing two very distinct methods for creating images in my graphic work.
First, the impressions are all taken from my hand etched copper plates. I then generate and manipulate color in a computer and when I feel satisfied, print the color directly onto the impressions.
The process might be considered analogous to a wood cut. The copper being the "key block" and the layers of color from the computer corresponding to separate wood blocks.
The final result is the joining of the traditional intaglio process with the technology of today.
