Bio
Idaherma holds a MFA degree from the Graduate School of Fine Arts, University of Pennsylvania and a BFA from the University of the Arts. She also studied at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts. Her woodblock prints have been exhibited and won many prizes worldwide. Prints were exhibited in London, UK, in 2005 and traveled to the US, where they were shown at the Philadelphia Sketch Club and the Princeton Theological Seminary. Prints were shown in Sofia, Bulgaria in 2007,2008 and 2009, and in Prague. Her work has received many awards, including the National Association of Women Artists Medal of Honor for Printmaking in 2004 and the Silver Medal of Honor for printmaking in the Audubon Artists exhibition in NYC, 2004. She won the Antonio Fraconi Award at the Society of American Graphic Artists exhibition in NYC, 2004, two Stella Drabkin Awards in the American Color Print Society Exhibitions in Philadelphia, 2003 and 1997, first Kiwa Prize in the Kyoto International Woodblock exhibition, Japan, 2003, the Aida Whedon Memorial Award for Printmaking, National Association of Women Artists, 2007, the Philadelphia Sketch Club Prize for Printmaking, 2007, Ellarslie Best of Show in Printmaking and President’s Award Trenton City Museum , N.J 2009. Public collections that include her work are the Lucis Trust in London, UK, Newark Public Library, Newark, NJ, the Zimmerlie Art Museum Rutgers University NAWA Permanent Collection, Graphic Arts Library, Princeton University, Parkway Central Library of Philadelphia. Her work can be found in private collections in the United States, Spain, England and Australia.
Idaherma is currently President of the American Color Print Society in Philadelphia. She is on the Board of the Society of American Graphic Artists in NYC.
