Artist Statement
As a working printmaker for over 25 years I have enjoyed making images using the variety of different print processes: collagraphs, monoprints, etchings, relief prints, solar plate etc. However, my focus has been in stone lithography. The flexibility in its range of possibilities for multi-color drops, solid color flats and textured washes best suits my aesthetic objectives.
I have begun a new series of images which incorporates a more metaphysical & psychological edge then my previous work. I am using the city of Wichita as a template for my compositions and inspiration. I am enjoying myself, using my artistic license, to visually alter the normal perception of Wichita into something mysterious, wonderful and perhaps even strange.
