Artist Statement
I strive to capture the essence of my subject rather than a percise rendering. Though nature is often the subject of my work, I choose to focus on the ordinary rather than the magnificent; for there is much beauty, joy and wonder in what we take for granted. I also have an interest in the urban environment, and how nature persists in such a setting. What facinates me about printmaking are the numerous ways to make marks, and how these marks are transformed in the process of printing a plate.
